My gr8 Mysore trip

Here is the long due blog on my mysore trip.

We (7 ppl) started from Bangalore at around early morning 7ish (!!!!) on wednesday. We are supposed to start from our place at 6:30 AM but we were late only by one hour considering our reputation and past experience, I guess this is not bad at all.

First stop is at a small hotel. Everyone had the breakfast. From then on, there is no stopping in eating. We ate everything and anything that is remotely edible and fall in our sight. Its a very well synced group. Everyone has so much appetite, we realized only on that day. ;)

We started playing some music and then some of them got bored. Then, played dumb C for most of the part. That was fun. I never realized that Dumb C can be that much fun. That too when you start to irritate the mimer by guessing something totally random and try to confuse him/her.

Next stop is at Tippu Sultan summer palace. It was a calm place. The greeneries are superb. But the museum is not that gr8...may be I am not interested in those sort of places :(

Can you spot the crodile. Believe us. We got that snap from the boat.

Then, went to Ranganathittu bird sanctuary(http://www.karnatakatourism.org/html/attract/nature/wildlife/bird.htm). This place was really exciting. There were lot of birds. (yeah..it sound stupid to say there were lot of birds in a bird sanctuary. But I couldn't resist :)) Then, went in a boat. It was really adventurous...there were crocodiles freely roaming around... Its really scary. Got some real cute pictures of crocodile and birds(yeah, only birds..not much figures around there). Had lot of snacks from icecream to popcorn to chips to pepsi after that awesome boating.

Went to Lalitha Mahal. Yeah. It is not a tourist destination. But it is really a palace. We bribed some 30 bucks to enter that hotel. It looks like Victoria Palace from outside.(Never Seen Victoria Mahal though :)). Took lot of snaps there too. (Yeah. Everyone is photogenic and want to capture every moment.)

Then, went to Chamundi hills. The place was very crowded. Took some snaps outside the temple. The view of Mysore from there was cool. Its really peaceful and serene to look Mysore from there. Had some tender coconut and bajji.

Had buffet lunch is Ramanashree hotel. Food was gr8. After so much of food from the morning, Everyone still managed to eat abundant amount of food.

Then, went to Brindavan. The place was changed a lot. The entrance to the garden was changed to the far end and hence you dont have to cross tht long stretch of dam. DAMN. Hence, we missed the long stroll over that dam. They say some safety measure or sthing. Water, Water every where....Why can't they give more water to Tamil Nadu, they have so much water. (Okie. Lets not get in to politics.) Had snacks & drinks again :)

Here comes THE place of the day. Yeah. You guessed it right. We came to THE PALACE. Right on time. Sorry. Rather we came before time. We waited for some time to enter the palace. We went inside. Managed to grab chairs. Waited patiently for the glorious time. At exactly 7 o'clock, the palace was lit totally. It was glittering like gold in that light. There are no words to express. Even photos can't justify that beauty. It was awesome,gr8,superb...okie..whtever.

Had dinner at really crappy road side dhabba. Food was good.

Overall, it was a really gr8 trip. Looking forward to have more such trip in the future. Thanks for the gr8 time ppl.

Thotti Jaya and Mazhai

Watched couple of movies over the weekend.

One is from our little super star(!!!),simbu. Thotti Jaya. It is full fledged action film. Don't expect any logic any where in the film. I don't know how in cinema alone ppl get love in less than 2 mins :). (Yeah..May be I show some of my frustration.)Don't even go to the theatre even if some one is giving you free ticket. That guy is having some grudge against you and be careful with him from now on. :)

The other movie is mazhai. It is a remake from Telugu movie Varsham. Shriya(heroin) is awesome. She is really cute and gorgeous ;). This also falls in to same category. Love at first sight. (dei, konjamavathu marunga da.) But director used his chance to expose Shriya as much as possible. Last half an hour in the film is only fight. Hence, if you had watched 2 or 3 tamil movies, you know what will happen in the end and can easily skip those part. Except for Shriya, there is nothing else. :) I am tending to say "Don't go for this" but Shriya may stop coming in my dreams.

Heard Gajini is good. Planning to go some time in the next week. :))

Rich Internet application

Read an interesting article on Rich Internet application from Macromedia. I guess it is a must read for all UI developers...

Movies based on books

Sorry for not updating my blog regularly....

I just finished reading the book "The Zahir" by Paulo Coelho. I read the author's other book "The Alchemist" before that and am very much impressed..... Though "The Zahir" is not as gr8 as "The Alchemist", it is still worth a read. Some of the topics went above my head and may be because of that I didn't like this much. I am planning to reread this book again sometime in the future...
Let me come to the point of this blog. There were lot of movies came based on famous books like Harry potter,Lord of the rings etc..(My knowledge of English movie is very limited and hence can't quote more :)). I read Harry potter - The chamber of secrets. I enjoyed reading that book. I really kinda finished it at one stretch. But I didn't get that fun/joy when I watched the movie. Lot of those things were very well handled by the author, than the director of the movie.
That brings to the interesting point... What I think is, book is open ended and give lot of scope for imagination... But by seeing that in the movie, our imagination is limited(or even 0). It is also not provoking your creativity. You are actually watching the movie as read by the director and restricted to his imagination. Even if the director and the author are same that will be the same case. It is very common to see ppl who comment like gr8 book but bad movie...
What do you ppl think about this?
Any one did the reverse process on this? i.e Watching the movie first and then reading the book. What do you feel?
